2019 has been a year of trade shows for Central Platform Services (CPS Lift). We’re committed to our products and although the internet and telephone are fantastic tools, we decided to exhibit our equipment at trade shows across the country. Here, people could see, touch and feel the fine quality of engineering that we bring to the market directly from our partners in Finland.
Yorkshire Agricultural Machinery Show (6th February 2019)
We started the year by exhibiting at the Yorkshire Agricultural Machinery Show (YAMS). This was held at the York Auction Centre on the 6th of February. We took a wide range of compact loaders from Avant Tecno UK and the L190 cherry picker from Avant’s sister company – Leguan. This was a fantastic show for Yorkshire’s farming community and our range of agricultural equipment went down a treat.
The highlight, of course, was when the show organisers announced the winner of the best stand. We hardly expected to win and it was all credit to the hard work our team had put in.
Harrogate Spring Flower Show (25-28th April 2019)
As the weather starts to warm up, both domestic and commercial gardeners look to the Harrogate Spring Flower Show to provide them with inspiration for the up and coming gardening and horticultural season. The small Avant 225 was well accepted here from domestic gardeners using it for grass cutting, tree growers and even beekeepers for moving beehives. This is a pleasant show and one we really enjoy being at as it is not far from home at the Harrogate Showground in North Yorkshire.
Plantworx 2019 (11-13th June 2019)
As you would expect at Peterborough’s Plantworx, they showcase all of the newest innovations that the construction industry has to offer. The weather was terribly wet which allowed the Avant to showcase the new track systems by wading in deep water. For a 4-wheel drive tracked compact loader with a fully heated cab this was little effort. We even handed out umbrellas for spectators.
The Great Yorkshire Show (9-11th July 2019)
The Great Yorkshire Show is the biggest show of its kind in the UK and is based at Yorkshire’s Harrogate Showground. With something for everyone over three days from equestrian, agriculture, sports cars, livestock, poultry farming and everything in between. On our stand, we exhibited a good range of the Avant compact loaders and Leguan Access Platforms. We had the Avant 750LX with a heavy-duty log grapple, the Avant R35 with the auger, the Avant 523 with timber grapple and the 2 series with the beehive mover. Plus, other compact loader attachments like 4 in 1 bucket, forks, flail mowers and lawnmowers. We also took the tree surgeon favourite, the Leguan 190 access platform. With its narrow width, 19 meters working height and 10 metres outreach, the Leguan is becoming a firm favourite for the professional arborist and tree surgeon.
Driffield Show (17th July 2019)
The Driffield Show is the East Riding’s country machinery show for agriculture and livestock. The show celebrates the core and tradition of farming and food and has been an agricultural extravaganza for 144 years.
Bishop Wilton (20th July 2019)
In July, we joined the Bishop Wilton Show to join in on the celebration of 121 years of the show. At this exhibition we had the helping hand of Avant Tecno. They supported us with the #AvantOnTour lorry which was packed with their newest innovations. We also unveiled the all-new Avant 860i compact loader. The new Avant 860i offers a 3.5 metre lift height and a 2-tonne lift capacity. It’s the biggest of the Avant multi loader range and can still be trailer transported weighing only 2.5 tonnes. This was an amazing addition to our stand.
Emley Moor (3rd August 2019)
Emley Moor is another very local show for us. We met up with many of the friendly faces that visit the show year after year. The weather was fantastic, and we had our #MINIminiAvant competition held by Cherry. The lucky winner was posted a scale model prize along with other Avant goodies. The competition was so successful that we decided to do it all future shows.
Malham Show (24th August 2019)
Set in Malhamdale in the shadow of Malham Cove, the Malham Show is a traditional farming, agricultural and family country show. It has been taking place for over 100 years and covers everything from equestrian show jumpers and prize bulls through to agricultural and farming equipment (not to forget ice cream!) This quaint country fair captures the essence of country life at its best.
Kilnsey Show (27th August 2019)
The Kilnsey Show is held near Grassington, Upper Wharfdale. Again, this is a perfect setting just under the Kilnsey Cragg. A much bigger show than Malham – just over the Yorkshire Dales pass. A great family day out, Kilnsey Show offers an enjoyable taste of life in the Yorkshire countryside. Keenly contested sheep and cattle classes are supplemented by horse events throughout the day – riding classes, shires, hunters, mountain and moorland; climaxing to a thrilling finish with harness racing. Our sheepdog trials attract many of the top dog handlers from all over the United Kingdom, supported by displays, demonstrations and attractions encompassing all aspects of agricultural and rural life.
Harrogate Autumn Flower Show (27th August 2019)
A nice local show for us to close the exhibitions for 2019 was the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show. This relaxing show usually has lots of year-end deals to be had. Like the Spring flower show, we promoted the Avant compact loader attachments which are useful to growers, smallholders, horticulturists and landscaping professionals.
We really enjoy exhibiting at the above country shows and it really is a fantastic way for people to come and see the equipment first-hand and speak to our knowledgeable experts. Furthermore, it’s a great opportunity for us to get your feedback on our products and services.
