Smartlift SLX 2000 – The Multi-Purpose Lifting Solution Designed for Modern Construction

The Smartlift SLX 2000 is the latest in multi-purpose lifting technology that’s designed for the demands of modern construction projects, all thanks to a range of innovative features including a quick change tool system and remote telematics.

The SLX 2000 is particularly useful for lifting and handling glass facades, where the glass can be managed from the inside of the building and then installed from the inside out (all via remote control functions).

For over two decades, Smartlift has earned itself a reputation for developing and producing state-of-the-art glazing robots and other lifting devices. The company has consistently upgraded their machines with the latest features and improvements in lifting capability. The SLX 2000 continues this tradition of excellence and innovation in lifting technology.

The SLX 2000 Base Unit

At the heart of this solution is the SLX 2000 base unit which is fitted with an electric drive system and an electric over hydraulic lifting system, giving the machine excellent lifting capacity whilst at the same time helping to ensure smooth movements.

The machine is also fitted with power-assisted steering as standard, helping to improve its manoeuvrability, especially in confined spaces. It’s also fitted with a remote drive system that enables the operator to drive the machine from a distance while at the same time enjoying excellent visibility of the load.

The specifications of the base unit are represented in the following table:

Lifting Height5.8 metres
Lifting Capacity1500 kg
Weight1750 kg
Length2780 mm
Transport Height (When Closed)1.53 metres
Width1100 mm
Charging Voltage110V
Operating TimeUp to 10 hours

Available Attachments

The real strength of the Smartlift SLX 2000 lies in the machine’s ability to quickly switch between different attachments, all thanks to its quick-change tool system. This allows the machine to become a specialised lifting solution for many different applications, all without the hassle of operating multiple pieces of equipment on site.

Hydraulic Hoist Winch

This attachment effectively converts the machine into a pick-and-carry crane that’s capable of lifting loads of up to 1500 kg, making it a highly versatile and popular option.

The hoist can be used with one of two different rope configurations, each of which offers a different working load limit and rope drop, as depicted in the following table.

Single Rope ConfigurationDual Rope Configuration
Working Load Limit800 kg1500 kg
Rope Drop50 metres25 metres

The under-hook lifting height for both configurations is 4.5 metres, giving operators excellent reach when it comes to lifting various types of materials.

This attachment is best used for lifting glass panels onto buildings, hoisting materials to upper levels, installing mechanical equipment and moving heavy components such as motors and steel fabrications.

Pallet Forks

With the pallet fork attachment in place, the SLX 2000 is transformed into a compact telescopic forklift. This allows the equipment to lift and manoeuvre palletised materials, qualifying it for use in different locations such as building sites and industrial facilities.

The pallet forks available with the SLX 2000.

The forklift configuration specifications are as follows:

Working Load Limit800 kg
Maximum Reach3 metres
Lift Height4.35 metres

Vacuum Yoke

As a company that specialises in the design and manufacture of glazing robots, it’s no surprise that Smartlift’s SLX 2000 is available with a vacuum yoke attachment.

With its very own mobile stand, the yoke is stored safely until ready for use. When required, it can be attached in a matter of minutes and the base unit will detect this and automatically activate the integrated dual vacuum system ready for the lifting of the heavy glass panes and other non-porous materials.

The specifications of the vacuum system are as follows:

Suction Pads6 x 400 mm suction pads
Maximum Working Load Limit1000 kg
Maximum Lifting Height5.85 metres (from ground level)
Side Shift100 mm side shift
RotationEndless rotation
Outreach2.7 metres

Fly Jib Lifting Hook

Another useful attachment is the fly jib lifting hook, which increases the machine’s outreach by an impressive 320 mm and allows operators to manipulate loads of up to 800 kg more precisely when positioning materials in difficult areas.

The fly jib would be typically used for factory maintenance work, general lifting tasks, and other work that requires the precision placement of the item been lifted.

Standard Lifting Hook

The standard lifting hook is designed for situations where maximum lifting capacity is required, and although it offers slightly less reach than the fly jib attachment, it provides a higher pick-and-carry capacity of up to 1400 kg.

Common applications of the standard lifting hook include moving heavy machinery, equipment installations, manufacturing operations and other general lifting activities.

Trackunit App

The SLX 2000 also features integration of the Trackunit telematics system, which is included as standard with the machine and comes with a 3 year subscription, thus providing operators and fleet managers with access to one of the most advanced machine monitoring technology systems available today.

This system provides real-time information about the machine, helping to facilitate more effective fleet management by the owner/operator.

The Trackunit system has various features that are highly effective for the management of the SLX 2000, including but not limited to the following:

  • Real-time machine tracking
  • Theft protection through GPS monitoring and geofencing alerts
  • Remote diagnostics for faster troubleshooting
  • Machine performance data monitoring
  • Service scheduling and maintenance alerts

Trackunit is accessible via a mobile app designed for both operators and service technicians alike. There is also a desktop version that’s more suitable for office staff and fleet management operations.

Why the SLX 2000 is Ideal for Hire Companies

Most lifting equipment is usually limited to just one job. The SLX 2000 however is capable of performing multiple functions thanks to its various attachments. This allows it to replace several pieces of equipment and thus helps hire companies to maximise utilisation rates and keep logistics simple.

For rental fleets, higher utilisation directly improves return on investment (ROI), making machines like the SLX 2000 an attractive option.
