Central Platform Services Ltd (CPSLift.com) is pleased to announce it has successfully renewed its SafeHire certification and continues to meet the SafeHire Private Standard under SafeHire Certificate No. 01488.

SafeHire is an industry-specific private standard for the hire and rental sector, developed with support from the British Standards Institution (BSI) and backed by safety and quality guidance including the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

What the SafeHire Private Standard Assesses

Certification is dependent on successful assessment and on-site verification of company policies and management systems across a wide range of business-critical areas, including the following:

  • Quality
  • Business Risk, Insurance and Financial Control

SafeHire assessment is an in-depth exercise, with verification intended to ensure that documented systems are implemented and effective in day-to-day operations of the hire company.

A Practical, On-Site Verification Process

The steps to achieving SafeHire certification are as follows:

  • Written commitment to the process at application.
  • Successful desktop assessment of documentary evidence by a team of experienced, independent assessors.
  • On-site verification checks at Head Office and any selected operating branches.
  • Document review on-site by the assessor to test their effectiveness, including:
    • Interviewing employees of all levels to ensure the company policy is truly “built in”.
    • Sampling key process paperwork for accuracy and effective data management, for example; hire contracts, customer service management systems and training records.
    • Inspecting and testing “ready for hire” equipment from all product categories offered by the hire company.

Results & Feedback

Audit results include the scoring of each audit element with one of three options (Conformance, Opportunity to Improve, or Non-Conformance), with successful applicants receiving a SafeHire Certification that’s valid for three years with interim annual on-site assessments to ensure continued compliance.
