Just as things in the UK seem to be returning to normal after a major worldwide pandemic, I find it absolutely heartbreaking to think about the tragedy which is unfolding in Ukraine. The bravery of their president Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people is exceptional to say the least when they’re up against one of the largest armies in the world; an army led by a despotic unhinged monster like Putin. The current situation is almost unimaginable for the rest of the civilized world.
As the western world rallies to take care of the refugees by delivering clothes, food, and medical supplies, I am at a loose end as to know how we can help our fellow Europeans. We will start by making a small donation of £5,000 to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal with the additional benefit of £1,250 gift aid added by the UK government. Other than this we will pray and remain hopeful for a swift end to such an unnecessary and unjust war.
